36 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION
With a background that originated as a framing contractor, the founder of Shaye West Enterprises, LLC, Charles "Chuck" Seybert,  understands the importance of quality workmanship and strives to ensure that every project is completed with precision and pride.

Chuck is onsite each day, reviewing (and participating) in each element of the building process.  As a hands on builder, working with the same subcontractors year over year, the relationship formed is one of mutual respect.  At any stage of the build, the daily conversations regarding timelines or challenges are handled immediately.

Allow Shaye West to build your custom house, so you can create a home.
Custom isn't just about selecting colors and finishes, custom also means your house is built to withstand the test of time. Quality living in a home means the structure is sound, energy efficient, and built to last.

Time to get started…what’s the process?

Already have an idea of the style house? Is the design ranch style one level, a two-story, how many bedrooms and bathrooms, is the garage attached or detached, if two-story will you want an elevator, is outdoor living important, etc.  Whether you already have your lot / acreage or are in the process of purchasing, let Chuck meet with you at the property to discuss the various aspects of house placement:
  • Does this lot have a view?
  • Will the topography of the lot require excavation to accommodate the footprint?
  • Optimum placement for orientation to the sun for energy efficiency.
  • If this is within a subdivision, what are the set backs, restrictions, design restrictions?

Every consideration is given to the design and aesthetic elements, so be sure to ask questions and provide ideas.  It’s your home.

Chuck began his career as a framer, so he is very “hands on” when building your home.  "If you have any questions regarding the process, I will always discuss the various elements. Ultimately it’s your house, I’m there to make sure it’s built right – it’s personal for both parties,” says Chuck.

Already have a set of house plans drawn by a local designer or architect?  Perfect, with a completed set of plans Chuck can provide you with a bid, complete with written specifications and a list of all allowances included.

Have a plan or a rough draft created from your own ideas?  Chuck can recommend several accomplished residential designers in order to have a cohesive set of plans created.  These will be required for the bidding process, submission for permits, subdivision architectural approval, etc.  As a part of the design process, you, Chuck and the designer will meet at the property in order to obtain a better understanding of the ideas and expectations for the future home.
  • After gathering information regarding material and preliminary finishes, the designer will have a preliminary floor plan for review and discussion.  Chuck will look at the foot print of the home in order to determine whether or not the footprint will fit on the lot correctly; the driveway will work with any slope on the lot and fit within all required setbacks. There will always be adjustments; it’s all a part of customizing.
  • Once the plans have been finalized, Chuck can provide a complete bid including all specifications and allowances.
Once an agreement has been reached regarding costs and the basic contract is signed, the building process is nearly ready to begin. After the terms for payment are in place, it’s ready….set…go!
